Batemans Bay’s very own state-of-the-art indoor aquatic and arts facility, Bay Pavilions, is now complete and open for gym tours ahead of its public opening on June 4.
That means locals do not need to wait any longer to catch their first inside glimpse of the region’s new premier precinct, with bookings available now on the Bay Pavilions website.
The $69 million Eurobodalla Shire Council project, funded in conjunction with the NSW and Federal governments, includes an arts and cultural centre, indoor aquatics facilities, a water park, gym, group fitness, and wellness areas.
Aligned Leisure staff have begun fitting out the facility and are available to discuss fitness memberships and learn to swim options ahead of opening day.
Tickets for shows hosted by Bay Pavilions are also now on sale, including comedy performances from one of Australia’s most accomplished comics, Akmal.
Bay Pavilions Head of Customer Experience and Sales, Claudia Ferguson, encouraged locals to come and see the amazing new gym and group fitness rooms as soon as possible.
“Whether it is the water slide, theatre, gym, or play area you are most looking forward to – now is the time to come and see what the fuss is about,” she said.
“We are just about ready for the fun to begin, so come and be a part of the Bay Pavilions from the beginning and become a member today.”
Carolyn Harding, who campaigned for 20 years for an aquatic centre for Batemans Bay, said the finished facility was more than she could have imagined.
“(Back then) we were expecting an extension of our old pool. We’ve got something bigger and better than any other aquatic centre I’ve ever been to,” she said.
“I’m so excited, and so pleased to see a dream coming to fruition.”
