Learn to Swim

LEARN TO SWIM

Programs to suit all skill levels. You’ll be swimming in no time!

Our Program

Bay Pavilions has partnered with Royal Life Saving to provide the community with the Swim and Survive program.

This program has been updated to align with the recently released National Swimming and Water Safety framework. Swim and Survive is a comprehensive swimming and water safety initiative that seeks to increase swimming and water safety skills of all Australian children to prevent drowning and increase participation in safe aquatic activity.

Learn to swim, swimming lessons and infant aquatics are all terms commonly used across the aquatic industry for swimming skills programs. Swim and Survive is all of these, but most importantly it ensures essential components of personal survival and water safety are provided, in addition to a process of developing strong and effective swimming techniques.

Class Levels

Bay Pavilions offers a variety of class levels to suit your swimming needs. Our swim program’s structure ensures a balanced, comprehensive instructional approach to your child’s aquatic education.

Students have 5 make up lessons per semester, they do not carry over each semester and there are no refunds for non-attendance of lessons and must be used within the current semester.
Classes are graded based on the child’s swimming ability. If your children are at the same level, they will be able to be in the same class. However, if their ability differs, they will be graded accordingly.

All children under 2 years of age need to wear a special swim nappy whilst using pools and Splash Park at Bay Pavilions.
Children should have swimmers they are used to wearing and feel comfortable and confident wearing. Goggles are good for protecting eyes from the chlorine, but they can take time away from lessons when not fitted properly. Children should practice wearing goggles before they start lessons.
The waterslides are an added feature and are not included in the aquatic/swim school memberships. You would need to purchase a waterslide pass to use this feature.
Yes, you can subject to availability. You can change your child’s permanent booking at any time by calling the centre or speaking with the Swim Captain on duty at the centre.

Our instructors have a very brief window between your class and their next, so it is best to find the swim school captain.
This ensures that you receive the time required to discuss any questions you might have. Asking our instructors directly may eat into your or another child’s valuable lesson time.
