February Construction Update

The Bay Pavilions is nearing construction completion and fit-out is underway!

When travelling south along the Princes Highway, approaching Beach Road intersection, you can see the main entry to the theatre is being landscaped.

There will be granite stone walls, a timber boardwalk and key art features at the entry.

The theatre is the tallest section of the building. Inside, its tiered seating is now in place and the high-spec AV is currently being installed.

The dance rehearsal studio now has its timber sprung floor and the meeting room studios are fully carpeted.

The floor of the central foyer and reception area is a mixed-exposed aggregate concrete which is currently being polished – and looking schmick!

There’s plenty of well-thought-out design features of the Bay Pavilions. Something unique considered was the strong emphasis on accessibility – making sure people with mobility limitations can enjoy the precinct too!

In the coming month, landscaping work will continue.

Shade sails will be installed off the waterslide tower and adjacent play spaces.

You’ll see the continuation of local timber slats around the building’s exterior.

FUN FACT: It is estimated 40,000 meters of electrical cabling has been installed into the building. Which is 40km of cabling or 120km of single core electrical!
