As we head into summer, Bay Pavilions is introducing a traffic light system to help you plan your journey to the pool. Traffic lights are an easy way for everyone to see our current capacity status and to know when the best time for a swim will be. The traffic light status will be displayed on digital signage at the centre and on our social media pages Check Facebook here
What is Lockout?
Lockout is when entry to the pool or centre is no longer permitted. For safety reasons, there can only be a maximum number of patrons allowed in the aquatic pavilion at any one time. This ensures the lifeguards are able to effectively monitor all pool areas and avoid overcrowding where incidents are more likely to occur. A lockout will be implemented when the Aquatic Pavilion has reached its maximum capacity. Entry will be permitted as other patrons leave the aquatic pavilion on a one-in-one-out basis.
Below are the traffic light images that will be displayed and posted on our social media pages. Have a read of each one to make sure you understand their meanings.
Indicates we have plenty of room, so come on in and enjoy the fun!
Indicates we are nearing capacity and preparing for lockout.
Indicates the aquatic pavilion has reached maximum capacity and lockout has been implemented as we are unable to admit anymore patrons.
We will be monitoring the number of patrons in the aquatic pavilion throughout the day and providing regular updates as best we can. As numbers increase or decrease, the status will change accordingly i.e., green to amber to red; red to amber and back to green etc.
We appreciate your patience during this time, we understand waiting can be frustrating, but will be doing our best ensure everyone has an enjoyable and safe time during their visit. Looking forward to a fun filled summer!
